Who may use Homeroom

You must be an adult who is legally able to enter into these terms. If you add information about a student, family member, teacher, or anyone else, you represent that you have the authority and permissions needed to provide it and allow its use as described here and in the Privacy Policy. You are responsible for protecting your account password, student PINs, and private calendar-feed links.

Your account and the service

Homeroom gives you a limited, personal, non-transferable right to use the service while your account is in good standing. You may use it to plan and track a household's education, create reports, and use the optional features made available to your family. You may not misuse the service, interfere with its operation, attempt to access another family's information, or use it to violate someone else's rights.

Your content and permission to use it

You keep your rights in the information and content you submit to Homeroom. To operate and grow the service, you grant The Academy of Chaos and its service providers a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free right to host, store, copy, process, analyze, modify, create derivative works from, and otherwise use that content to provide, secure, support, improve, develop, test, evaluate, and train Homeroom and its products, services, and AI capabilities.

This permission includes using information in aggregated or de-identified form where practical. It does not grant a right to use Google User Data to train or improve generalized artificial intelligence or machine-learning models; that data is governed by the separate limitations in the Privacy Policy.

AI features

Some Homeroom features use artificial intelligence to turn information you submit into a draft, suggestion, or analysis. AI can be wrong, incomplete, or unsuitable for your situation. You remain responsible for reviewing every result, deciding whether to use it, and making educational decisions for your family. AI features are optional, and the parent approves changes before they are applied to Homeroom records.

Google Calendar sync

Google Calendar sync is optional and works only after you authorize it. Homeroom uses the limited calendar.app.created permission to create and manage Homeroom-owned calendars and their events. It cannot access the calendars or events it did not create. Your use of this feature is also subject to the applicable Google terms and policies. Homeroom's handling of Google User Data is described in the Privacy Policy.

Subscriptions, availability, and changes

Homeroom may offer a free trial and paid monthly or annual subscriptions. Prices, features, and renewal terms are presented when you subscribe. You may cancel a subscription at any time; access continues through the period already paid for unless we say otherwise at purchase. We may change, suspend, or discontinue features or the service, including to maintain security, comply with law, or improve Homeroom.

No warranties; limits on liability

Homeroom is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis to the extent permitted by law. We do not promise that it will always be available, error-free, or suitable for every educational, legal, reporting, or compliance need. To the extent permitted by law, The Academy of Chaos is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for loss of data, profits, or goodwill arising from your use of Homeroom.

Ending use

You may stop using Homeroom at any time. We may suspend or end access if you materially breach these terms, misuse the service, create risk for others or the service, or if required by law. You can export your family records from Settings while your account has access. Data handling after account closure is described in the Privacy Policy.

Changes and contact

We may revise these terms from time to time. The date above shows the most recent revision. By continuing to use Homeroom after a change takes effect, you agree to the revised terms. Questions can be sent through the Homeroom support center or The Academy of Chaos.
