AI helpers

Homeroom has five built-in helpers. Each proposes an answer or change for an adult to review. These helpers run inside Homeroom and are separate from connecting your own assistant through the MCP pilot.

Photo import

Open Add → Photo and photograph a curriculum page or table of contents. Review the extracted rows, correct titles and descriptions, select what belongs in the plan, and check the dates before confirming the import.

Use a clear, readable image. A partial page produces a partial source; do not treat missing pages as a complete curriculum. If the helper cannot read the page reliably, use the ordinary spreadsheet importer or enter the lessons yourself.

Quick log

On Today, describe what happened in plain language, by typing or using the available voice input. Review the proposed lesson matches, completions and time entries. Confirm only the suggestions that are correct.

For example, a sentence about finishing science and spending instructional time outdoors may propose both lesson completion and a separate activity entry. Check that the same minutes are not counted twice.

Worksheet grading

Open a lesson in a graded subject and expand AI grading help. Submit a readable photograph of the completed worksheet. Review each proposed verdict and the suggested score. You can change an item to correct, wrong or excluded before deciding whether to save the grade.

The parent's review determines the recorded grade. An unclear image or incomplete answer key can make the suggestion wrong.

Essay feedback

Use the writing helper to review work against the available rubric. Read the suggested feedback and score, correct what needs changing, and decide what to share with the student. Do not treat a generated assessment as an independent teacher judgment.

Catch-up planning

When missed lessons build up, Help me catch up compares recovery options against the schedule. Review the dates, affected work and proposed finish before choosing an option. The ordinary Forward All flow also remains available.

When a helper is unavailable

AI helpers need internet access and have usage limits. If a request fails or reaches a limit, wait for the indicated reset or use the ordinary lesson and record forms. Check saved state before repeating a request whose result was interrupted.

If a helper does not appear, it may not be enabled for your account or site. Use the ordinary forms or ask support about its availability.

Choosing an AI helper sends that helper's submitted input and needed context to an AI processing provider. For data-use terms and the correction-sharing setting, use the current Privacy Policy, Terms and Settings → Your data & account. The correction-sharing setting does not replace those policies.
