Lessons and schedules
Set the school year and a subject's weekdays before building its lesson sequence. Homeroom uses those dates, days and breaks when it schedules work.
Add lessons
| Method | Where | Use it for |
|---|---|---|
| Quick add | Add | One lesson with instructions, links and estimated minutes |
| Generator | Add | A numbered sequence distributed over a subject's school days |
| Import | Add | Pasted spreadsheet rows or a CSV, with a preview |
| Rapid add | A subject's lane view | Entering titles quickly, one per next open day |
| Curriculum plan | Catalog → resource → Build a lesson plan | Scheduling selected items from a published outline |
The spreadsheet importer accepts lesson-name, description and resource-URL columns. Check the preview and column interpretation before confirming. Importing lesson rows is different from transferring another service's entire account, grades, attendance or attachments.
In Rapid add, turn off Auto-number when the title should stay exactly as typed. That preference is remembered for each subject.
Lessons can include instructions, resource links, a lesson number, estimated minutes and a start time or all-day placement. Parents can edit an individual lesson after adding it.
Move unfinished work
Use Forward All from a subject, or the missed-work recovery prompt on Today. Choose a number of school days or a resume date, then review the preview.
Forwarding moves the subject's incomplete sequence, including upcoming lessons. Completed and skipped lessons stay where they are. Subject weekdays, family breaks and the school-year end still apply. Confirm only after checking the affected count and new finish date. If the work cannot fit, extend the year or revise the schedule before trying again.
Changing dates is separate from marking work complete. Daily tracking explains the status colors.
Copy work to another student
From a subject, choose Copy to student… for the whole sequence. From a lesson, choose Copy to another student… for one item.
The ordinary app copy includes the plan's titles, instructions, resource links, dates, times and estimated minutes. Grades, notes and progress stay with the original student. A matching destination subject can receive the copied lessons; otherwise the app creates a subject. Exact matching lessons are skipped when you repeat the copy.
Each copy becomes independent work. Editing or completing one student's copy does not update the other student's copy. This ordinary copy flow differs from the MCP pilot's private copy proposal, which creates new destination subjects after its own review.
Breaks and school days
Use Settings → School year for the family calendar and Settings → Subjects for each subject's cadence. Include Saturday or Sunday if those are school days for your family. Add an inclusive break date range in Settings; do not mark break days complete merely to clear the schedule.
