Reports and learning records
Reports summarizes the work your family recorded. Check the student and date range before printing or exporting.
| Report | What it covers |
|---|---|
| Weekly report | Planned and completed work, subject progress, grades, dates, minutes and notes |
| Attendance | Planned dates, actual attended dates and parent-marked attendance |
| Instruction hours | Completed-lesson time and separately logged instructional activities |
| Reading | Books, authors, reading dates and notes |
| Transcript | Subject completion, grades, hours and GPA where applicable |
| Saved school year | The record preserved when you confirm a school-year rollover |
Weekly reports can be exported to CSV. The app also offers printable schedules, subject lists, progress reports, attendance, hours, reading logs and transcripts. Use your browser's print dialog to save a PDF.
Attendance and hours
Attendance includes both days with completed lessons and days an adult explicitly marks attended. Completion counts on the actual completion date in the family's timezone. Several qualifying records on one date still count as one attended day. Planned days are dates with scheduled lessons, so the planned and attended totals can differ.
Completed lessons contribute actual minutes when recorded, otherwise their estimated minutes. Separately logged instructional activities also contribute to hours. Avoid logging the same minutes as both a lesson and an activity. A book entry or a scheduled lesson alone is not proof that instruction happened.
Log Library time or another activity
- Open Reports → Instruction hours.
- In Add instruction time, choose the student, date and minutes.
- Choose Library or another option under Type, add an optional note, and select Add time.
The hours screen and printable log show completed lesson hours by subject and logged activity hours by type. The printable log includes a separate Library total, even when it is zero. Check the date range before printing.
Older entries recorded as Other stay in that category. To change one, find it under Recent activity entries, select Edit, change Type to Library, and select Save entry. Adjust the report's date range to find older dates.
Add and manage your family's activity types
Under Your activity types, enter a name in New activity type and select Add type. Your family's types are available for all its students. Names must be unique, contain 2 to 40 characters, and differ from the built-in types. A family can have up to 30 active custom types.
Use Rename to change a custom type's name, including its label on past entries in live reports. Archive removes a type from new entries while retaining past entries and their totals. Select Restore to make it available again. Built-in types such as Library remain available.
Activity type management requires a connection. See offline use for logging time with types already saved on your device.
Homeroom organizes records. The reports do not certify that your family meets a jurisdiction's legal requirements; use the record format and requirements that apply to your family.
Snapshots
A live report reflects current records. A saved weekly snapshot preserves the report as it was when saved. Use the report's snapshot action when you need a fixed copy. Automatic weekly snapshots depend on the site's scheduled reporting process; if one is missing, save a snapshot or contact support.
Closing a school year also preserves the activity type names in that saved year's record. Later renaming does not change those saved names.
Labels, archives and the next year
Open Settings → Learning records to set progress display and learning-day goals, add optional subject categories or strands, and preview archiving or restoring a subject.
Archiving a subject retains its lessons, grades, notes and history. It removes the subject from active planning without treating its records as deleted. Historical reports can still include archived work.
Use Start a new school year to enter the new year dates and choose what should happen to unfinished lessons. Review Preview new school year before confirming. Change history and saved school years are available on the same Learning records screen.
Undoing a recorded action is subject to the app's current-state checks. Inspect the preview; do not assume an earlier state can overwrite later work. MCP drafts have a separate version and rollback workflow.
