Custom plans and imports

You can ask a supported assistant to propose your own lessons or extract an instructional plan from another planner that you authorize it to read. The result is a private Homeroom draft adding new subjects. Existing work is retained.

Homeroom MCP does not browse the other service, fetch its URLs, log in to it or accept its credentials. A browser-capable assistant handles the source reading in that provider's own session. That provider can see what you authorize it to read there. Homeroom cannot remove that information from the other provider afterward.

Confirm the source and scope

  1. Complete Private Focus and the existing-work check. Confirm that the task is to add new subjects without replacing current work.
  2. Agree on the source, date range and whether this is a selected window or the complete source plan.
  3. Have the assistant inspect every requested page, date and recurring occurrence. A displayed week is not evidence of a complete year.
  4. Review subject and lesson counts, missing information and unsupported fields before approving the proposal.
  5. Save the draft, correct it in Homeroom, prepare the exact preview and confirm Apply only when it matches the agreed scope.

An example request:

> Create a Homeroom custom-plan draft from the planner I authorize you to read. I will choose the destination child privately. Keep existing work. Confirm the dates, coverage, lesson count and omitted fields before saving. Do not make live browser edits in Homeroom.

What can come across

IncludedLeft out
Subject names and weekdaysSource account identities and private record IDs
Lesson titles and instructionsOriginal grades and completion history
Individual scheduled datesAttendance and actual study-time history
Estimated minutes when knownSource start times and recurrence rules
Accepted public resource linksPrivate notes, attachments and signed or private links

Recurring work must be expanded into individually dated lessons. Unknown estimated minutes stay unknown; the assistant must not invent them. Imported lessons start unstarted. This is instructional-plan extraction, not a complete account migration.

Names, family details, diagnoses, account IDs and private notes do not belong in the proposed content. Check extracted prose before saving; a plausible-looking sentence can still contain identifying information.

Custom imports accept public HTTPS references without embedded credentials, fragments or ordinary query strings. A limited set of YouTube video, playlist and timing parameters is permitted. Private, expiring, signed, login or tracking links should be omitted with an explanation, not silently altered and presented as working resources.

Homeroom does not fetch those links during import or review. Check their purpose yourself before using them.

Limits and collisions

A custom draft can contain up to 12 new subjects, 2000 lessons and 512000 bytes of plan data. Existing and proposed work together must fit the workflow's review capacity of 200 subjects and 2000 lessons. Excess work is refused; it is not cut down silently.

Subject-name collisions require distinct new subject names rather than an automatic merge. Past dates can be retained without awarding completion or attendance. Catalog references belong only to actual published catalog material; the assistant must not invent them for custom content.

If the source cannot be fully read or the plan exceeds a limit, narrow the agreed scope and identify what remains before making another draft.
